BDI Debuts New Ergonomic Coda Chair

Office Chair Features Personalized Seating and Stylized Design

CHANTILLY, VA — Oct. 11, 2023 — Premiere furniture designer and manufacturer BDI introduces the new Coda Office Chair, which combines functional ergonomic support with high style to offer the ideal task chair for home office spaces. Coda will showcase at High Point Market in BDI’s new showroom, IHFC, D724.

Designed by Claudio Bellini, Coda was created to offer a high-performing, fully customizable task chair that can hold up to any task, while offering a beautifully styled design, ideal for the home office space. With extended work sessions in mind, Coda is engineered with breathable comfort and adjustable support. Its materials promote airflow to keep the body cool, while the design adapts to the body’s natural contours to provide just the right amount of support.

“With many individuals still working from home, we wanted to introduce a comfortable task chair that offers all the functionality and support you expect from an office chair while not compromising on style,” said Matthew Weatherly, Associate Design Director at BDI. “Coda is the latest in our line of task chairs and is not only ergonomically engineered for workday comfort and support, but also brings an elegant style that is instantly at home in any home office.”

Bringing ultimate comfort to the workday, Coda features BDI’s Synchro-Tilt function, which enables the backrest and seat to tilt independently - while still linked together - allowing the legs to stay at a natural level during recline. The tilt feature locks into one of four recline positions for ultimate adjustability.

Coda also includes a personalized seating experience, allowing for complete customization and adjustment of multiple parts of the chair for maximum comfort. These ergonomic features include:

  • Cushioned headrest adjusts in height, locking in ten different positions across a 3.5” range for ultimate neck support.

  • Lumbar support provides lower back support for prolonged periods of sitting. The adjustable mechanism can be placed in one of six positions for ideal pressure and comfort.

  • Adjustable armrests can move in any direction to provide tailored alignment and ergonomic support to a user’s arms and wrists.

  • Adjustable seat height with a lever that provides pneumatic support for the ideal height.

  • Tilt tension control to fine-tune the amount of force required to recline.

  • Adjustable backrest can move up or down to accommodate a user’s height and build.

  • Adjustable seat depth that glides front or back to ensure a custom fit and to adjust for various body heights.

The chair is available in two options: a black/gray chair with a black nylon base, or an oyster/grey chair with an aluminum base. Coda is BIFMA certified, making it suitable for any application.
